Oddbodies in Ventari
I would just like to know- why, why when I saw a req7 armor level 16 LIGHT BLUE tactics shield yesterday selling in Ventari's corner did the people say 5k max?
But then people the next day turn around with a req7 armor level 15 light blue tactics shield and have a starting bid of 30k?
And another thing I would like to know- why, when people say "Selling minipets blah blah blah, blah blah, blah blah, and blah" do nearly all posts following it say "Is it undedicated? If so I'll buy it."
Its obviously undedicated as the person stated it in the thread title AND in the post.
I would just like to know answers to these questions. I'll post more soon if I have any and if these get answered properly.

Ventari's Corner has always been like.... A core group of people will pc items low, delete any posts that pc it accurately , buy said item dirt cheap, and re-sell for huge profits. Those same select people pc items really low when expansions come out, IE Elemental Swords, we're declared worthless, so they scooped them all up, and said that Elemental Swords are now worth 100k + XXX Ectos , and once again made huge profits. It's pretty much always been this way.

The latter shield is likely inscribable and worth a decent amount of money. The former shield cannot be inscribable and is likely merchant fodder.

QFT.
With the inscripton system value of items can seem quite complex at first, gotta take everything into account skin, damage, inherant mod, inscription or not?, and the rartity (white, blue, purp, gold, green and yea theres even red ) but yea an req 7 inscription shield will be worth more than a blue req 7 16 armor non inscrpition one.

It's all for running mo/w, so you only have to spec 7 into tactics for max advantage of your shield. And yes, 15 armor is better than having just 8.

15 AL r7 Shields have quite a bit of value, largely because people tend to merchant them (they're not gold and max AL? merch!). I buy 'em when I see them, which isn't often.

Wow, that has to be one of the single most moronic things I've seen posted here, and that's saying quite a bit. You fail at reality.
To answer the OP's 1st question, the 16al shield was most likely uninscribable(there has never been a reported max r7 inscribable), and therefore worthless because of non-max mods. Wheras the 15al is inscribable, and like all inscribables can have perfect mods added to it, so it is worth more.

Its a conspiracy which all moderators are in on...
Yup, a really really ignorant post.
I take it the person has never modded a forum before or got any idea how they are run. Deleted posts can still be seen by moderators... So all those threads which apparently had posts deleted to hide the items true value can still be seen by all moderators of that sub-forum. So I guess they must all be in on it. Shame as I personally know alot of them and they never told me... Would loved to have be part of it. Just like I was never in on the, "all ultra rich people manipulate the ecto market", theory...

skin/rarity also plays a big factor in the price

1) The people that generally stalk the market suck and want low prices.
2) People just want to make sure they aren't, as the seller generally doesn't specify. Many times have I found "WTS Burning Titan 7K!" and I go to trade them and it's dedicated. I would at least appreciate "Ded" or "Unded" in it now, since it's basically a new requirement.
The other day, I was selling 11 dedicated miniatures for 500g each, perfectly stated with pretty stars surrounding it, and I still had one person trade me and go "oh, I thought they were undedicated." Well, no shit sherlock, who sells undedicated miniatures for 500g a piece?

This isn't true of all forum software. Heck, it isn't even true of most of it.

All it takes is a lone outpost and 2 people faking a deal to scam people. They probably do not dare to do this in LA, but some people do that there as well.
Be careful, if it would be really a good item, I wonder why he is not spamming in Kamadan or elsewhere.
